Beach Accessibility

Surfers Paradise Surf Living Saving Club (SP SLSC) and Volunteering Gold Coast have partnered to ensure Gold Coast’s most iconic beach is accessible for everybody for the upcoming 2019/2020 season, by providing beach wheelchairs, accessible beach Access Mat, a mobile hoist and a team of volunteers to implement the project. The project which is proudly supported by CPL – Choice, Passion Life & Mylestones will run every Saturday and on Public Holidays until May 2020.

To kick off the Accessible Beaches Project, Access Mats will be rolled out onto the soft sand at Surfers Paradise Beach. These mats are long, sturdy and securely pegged into the sand, creating a smooth surface for people that are mobility impaired, having difficulty walking or with a pram. The mat provides easy access to the water’s edge. A mobile hoist will also be on hand to assist if required.

Disabled change rooms and car parking is also available around the Surfers Paradise Surf Living Saving Club.
