busking & street performances

Busking is permitted in Surfers Paradise for performers with a Busking License who perform in the designated busking areas. Busking licenses are issued quarterly by Surfers Paradise Alliance in conjunction with the Gold Coast City Council. Busking Application Forms and Guidelines can be found at www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au.

Applying for a busking license

To acquire a Busking License, performers must pre-register to audition.

- Please complete the Busking Application Form and fax by 6th August 2010, 2010 t0 (07) 5538 8210 (ensure you keep a copy for your records).
- Successful Audition Applicants will be notified by phone by 13th August, 2010.
- Auditions will be held at Surfers Paradise Alliance, Rooftop Surfers Paradise Transit Centre, 10 Beach Road, Surfers Paradise on 17th August, 2010 from 10am.
- Auditions will be limited to 3 minutes. Please ensure your audition includes the key elements of your act.
- All busking must comply with the Busking Guidelines so please read the document carefully before applying.
- Successful Busking License Applicants will be notified by phone and advised of a time to pick up their Busking License from Surfers Paradise Alliance.
