Insider's Party Tips
- The action heats up at different times in the precinct, be seen at one of the alfresco bars on Orchid Avenue from 9:00pm to kick the night off.
- To beat the lines into the nightclubs and avoid a cover charge at some venues, make sure you get there early from 10:30pm. The main scene starts around midnight.
- If you're wanting to head out to a club after being at the beach, you'll need to get changed. The nightclub dress code is smart-casual in Surfers Paradise and thongs and singlets are not allowed in some venues.
- At 3:00am, the clubs and pubs 'lock down' in Surfers Paradise. All this means is that you can't move to another venue after that time. You can still stay in the night-spot you're in and continue drinking and dancing until the normal closing time. If you're between clubs or pubs at this time, you'll need to go home, or back to your hotel. Taxi ranks are located in Cavill Avenue and Orchid Avenue.
- There's lots of live music in Surfers Paradise, most of which you can catch for free. For free music check out the What’s On event listings.
