Sand Safari Arts Festival
Sand Safari Arts Festival sees Surfers Paradise transform into a captivating beachside exhibition of life-sized sand sculpts, giant tentacles, a sculptural sand crab migration, mermaids and artists. Through arts, literature and education, the award winning festival highlights the importance of one of life’s real treasures - friendship.
An integral part of the festival each year is the annual Australian Sand Sculpting Championships. Visitors are invited to interact with the sculptors as they work on their quest to create life sized ‘Treasures of the Sea’, which develop over days to form a central part of the Sand Safari Art Festival.
Sand Safari offers a wonderful place of discovery, where families and friends can connect, capture and share memories over two weeks – from snapping a group selfie with an intricate sand sculpture or at a beached pirate ship, exploring the work of local artists to sharing a meal at one of the precincts many cafes and restaurants.
