Witness Australia's best sand sculptors in action as they compete in the third annual Australian Sand Sculpting Championships. 

Over the Saturday and Sunday of competition, 10 professional sculptors will mould and carve over 180 tonnes of sand into fantastic, crowd-pleasing works of art as they deliver their interpretation of the main theme, to be announced in coming months.  Previous themes include Pirates and Sand Safari, so expect the excitement to continue in 2014!

It's not just about the competition; everyone is welcome to get in on the action with heaps of activities for families and children. Learn the ropes at  beachfront sand sculpting workshops or get creative with sand art and sand bottle making.  

And don't miss the main attraction; a 60 tonne collaborative work between all sculptors, and the centrepiece of the Championships.

2013 Australian Sand Sculpting Champion Announced

Congratulations to 2013 Australian Sand Sculpting Champion Leo Vamvalis. Leo was awarded first place for his piece, "Wild Memories" (pictured).
