The Australian Sand Sculpting Championships winner was announced on Saturday 12th February after a grueling judging process.

Meg Murray from Victoria took out the Championships with her pirate and parrot sculpture - taking home $3,000.

Second place was awarded to Tutti Bonacci from New South Wales who sculpted a fantastic cartoon like pirate. He also took out the People's Choice award.

Third place came down to originality in design. Natasha Kamenskaia from Victoria's interpretation of the pirate theme resulted in a sculpture about music piracy.

Congratulations to all of contestants who completed in the inaugural Australian Sand Sculpting Championships.
