Festival of Film, Music and Dance
The Festival of Film, Music and Dance is a celebration of the evolving film industry on the Gold Coast, featuring short films from some of Australia’s most talented filmmakers, incredible live performances of musical scores and memorable movie dance routines.
The festival will feature the extraordinary Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra playing musical themes from popular films. Against the stunning backdrop of Surfers Paradise beach this is an intimate experience of music and film not to be missed.
Adding even more colour to the event, Eisteddfod-grade school bands and local dance groups will also perform pieces reflective of famous dance movies.
With film at its heart, the event hosts two short film festivals in conjunction with the Gold Coast Film Festival.
SIPFest, our very own Shorts in Paradise Festival and the only place you can catch films on the beach, will delight audiences with 14 short, cinematic masterpieces created by filmmakers from around the country and several international entrants. The films will be judged by a panel of industry experts and awarded $8000 in prize money across eight categories, including Best Film and People’s Choice – where the audience can cast their vote on the night.
Entries are now open for the competition - visit the Gold Coast Film Festival website if you are interested in submitting a film!
