Surfers Paradise Chariot Festival
The inaugural Surfers Paradise Chariot Festival rolls into Surfers Paradise on 18th January 2020. The ancient chariot festival, originally from Western India, has been celebrated in most major cities of the world since it first came to the western countries during the flower power era in San Francisco in 1967. It is a proactive, colorful and festive occasion for the whole family to participate.
The Chariot Festival celebrates peace and unity in cultural diversity.
The parade itself will start at View Ave on the Esplanade at 5pm and finish in Cavill Mall at 5:45pm. The parade will come to a standstill in Cavill Mall and from 5:45 onwards there will be a presentation of cultural dance, drama and music taking place on stage.
Free vegetarian snacks, kids face painting and other activities will be available for everyone to enjoy.
This event is presented by the Isckon Bhakti Centre Gold Coast community and sponsored by local businesses Govindas Surfers Paradise and Pashin Australia.
